It may seem like you could just sit on the porch forever and stare out at the water, but eventually you’re going to need food and maybe even entertainment. Here are some of our favorite spots in the area for shopping, eating, and living.
Outdoor adventures:
– Acadia National Park – pretty much the most beautiful place in Maine, whether you want to hike or drive to the top of its many mountains. Click here for hours (we have lots more information about this at camp, including some handy maps!)
Food:
– Jordon Pond Tea House – no trip to Acadia can be complete without a visit to the Jordon Pond Teahouse, where you have to try the popovers with clotted cream.
– The Mex – in Ellsworth for Mexican Food. Love the decor!
– Geddy’s – in Bar Harbor – Good food for every taste, perfect for a night out with the family.
Shopping:
– LL Bean Outlet – this place has all the sporting equipment you never knew you needed, for cheaper than usual.
– Rooster Brother – best cooking store EVER! (Jane’s favorite store on earth)
Kid friendly:
– Pirate’s Cove Mini-Golf – a family favorite, and with two paths to pick from, you can go more than once!
